The pattern for this fly came from the fine book by Dick Stewart and Farrow Allen, Flies for Steelhead. They write that this fly was originated by Bob York for high, but relatively clear water conditions. It was developed for the Kispiox River in Brittish Columbia and has a darker cousin (The Kispiox Dark) for off-color conditions.
